My Bio
Born and raised on Long Island. Lived in PA for half my life, and now I reside in Raleigh, NC as a graphic designer for a major lifestyle magazine. I love what seems like every facet of the words ART & DESIGN. I love painting, drawing, logo design, typography, editorial design, (okay, ALL of graphic design), sculpture, photography, printmaking, digital art, art history. I have a new interest in hand-making and hand-binding books, and making custom pinatas.

I am a college graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History with a fine art concentration.

At this point in my life, I love where I moved, and I love my job. I thank my son for my motivation and my purpose. I thank my friends for my sanity. And my sister keeps me cracking up and grounded in reality. I thank my boyfriend for always keeping a smile on my face and supporting my art habit. Oh, and I think my two little parrots Jax and Dexter for keeping me, well, not bored! That's my life. :)

I feel I am just catching onto my inspirations and my styles in different mediums. I have no idea where it's taking me, but I'll just hang on and see where I cruise too...

Favorite genre of music: Reggae, punk, rock, some metal, old school rap, most everything besides most new rap and country.
Favorite band: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slightly Stoopid, The Dirty Heads, The Green, Iration, Stick Figure
Favorite periods of art: Art Nouveau, Bauhaus & most Italian art.
MP3 player of choice: My iPhone!
Favorite cartoon character: Bugs Bunny because he's smart, resourceful, and sure of himself!
Favorite movie: Can't pick a fave, but The Usual Suspects is up there with the best!
Favorite shows: Game of Thrones, Dexter, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Criminal Minds, Sons of Anarchy, Into the Badlands, Law & Order (all of them).

Art, my son, my boyfriend, my friends.
I am a graphic design student.  Not at a prestigious art school, mind you, but a State University, nonetheless.  And regardless, every day I spend in school makes me feel one ounce more confident in my ability as a designer.  My issue is with the fellow students of mine who seem to take absolutely no interest in design outside of class and what assignments they are "forced" to complete.  When the professor says "Who here knows the name Paul Rand?"  Or..."Michael Bierut"...Or to keep it new...."Stefan Sagmeister", myself, and maybe one or two other people (usually the same students) will raise their hands.  What has everyone in my soon-to-be-g

Inspiration

I've been to the Corning Museum of Glass many times.  For some reason, it wasn't until my most recent trip just last week, that I brought my camera and took some pictures of glass for the very first time.  I sat down, transferred the photos to my laptop, and was very surprised at the photos I had taken.  :)  Going with my two favorite professors and being surrounded by artists didn't hurt either.  ;) I also made my first book.  A circle book.  Which will melt nicely with the experience of the printmaking class I just had as well.  I've never been too into the crafty side of the arts, so I was once again pleasantly surprised when I was happy
